If your internet is not working at its fastest speeds, there are a few things you can try, in order to get it up to speed. First off, the best bet would be to switch of the power of the router and reset it. This is sometimes the best trick, and all you have to do is unplug it from the wall, hit the reset button for 10 seconds, and reconnect it. A second thing to try is disconnecting and reseting the modem. This will also reset the connection. You can also try to turn off your PC or laptop, wait for 30 seconds, and then reconnect it to see if you can get your internet connection to speed up.

Another thing to try when your internet is not working at its fastest speeds is to contact your provider. If there is a problem on their end, it is only going to get resolved by them. Lastly, if you see your internet connection is not going at its fastest speed, you may want to try to get closer to the access point. So, if you are wireless, you may want to try to get closer to the router to see if it will speed up.

Anyone that is interested in speeding up their internet connection should seek a dual band router. This is all the rave for people that are interested in getting more speed from their connection.

These types of routers have the ability to connect host devices in more efficient ways. Users can send and receive data at the same time. This is what makes the router so popular. It speeds up the connect because the bandwidth is greater.

Download speeds are also good because users have the constant dual speed in place. This means that they can still surf the internet and download without tying up a lot of bandwidth.

Users that are looking for more speed can also upgrade their router if they have an older model. The letter N signifies the highest band speed. It is very popular among people that have multiple laptops or tablet PCs in their homes. People can use these bands and connect without the worry of losing their speed.

Everyone that is looking for a wireless solution should consider greater speeds through upgrades. It is best to have a band with a good range as well. Routers with extended band range increases the wireless signals.Related Article : D-Link DSL-2740B ADSL2 modem with Wireless N300 Router launches

Most phone users in the world today understand what the term 3G means and how it equates to their calls and phones in general. 3G (3rd generation mobile telecommunications) was designed to cater to the International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT-2000) standards set forth by the International Telecommunication Union. This standard state rules for the provision of services, which include wide-area wireless voice telephony, video calls and broadband wireless data capability. The broadband aspect is what has made this standard famous. By allowing faster access to mobile networks through telephony and high-speed Internet, video calls became a reality. The high-speed Internet capability alone has forced IT departments in hundreds of organizations around the world to re-think the way the enterprise interacts with the user. More corporate users are now utilizing their mobile 3G capable phones or mobile devices to connect to work related resources. With high-speed data transfers, software vendors are putting out mobile versions of their applications at a really high rate. The race is on to utilize this new connectivity option to deliver more services than ever before, and as time goes by, these services are becoming the standard in 3G capable devices all over the world. 3G has become a sort of standard of high speed connectivity for mobile devices.

You may have great broadband internet providers at home, but if you’ve got a smartphone you know how useful mobile internet can be. We’ve got the scoop on some cool new apps for Android phones and we’re sharing it with you:

Sportacular: Similar to ESPN Fan Zone, Sportacular has a better interface and an easier to work with set up. If you’re into the scores of every game, every minute as well as the TV channel it’s on, the previous play and who’s favored to win, this is your app.

EveryTrail: If you’re into hiking or camping, EveryTrail is made for you. Look up hiking trails near where you are (based on GPS locators) and find out everything about them from their length, user reviews, and even where the nearest bathrooms are.

Moviefone: If you see a lot of movies like we do you’ll love the Moviefone app. It’s easier to use than the real website and you can search by theaters nearby, movies and even reviews. It’s useful and a great time waster.

Without the proper guidance, your local electronics store can be a terrifying place. You head in there to pick up a router, expecting to choose between a handful of models. What faces you is an entire wall of routers”twenty five different models”all of them ostensibly the same. The prices are different, though, which leads you to believe that one of these routers is surely more appropriate for your family than the others. And, of course, you’re right.

The majority of the routers that you’re going to find are N-band, which is what you’ll want to buy. Wireless-N routers are faster and more reliable than their Wireless-G counterparts, so you should always spring for the ten or fifteen dollar difference in price. If you want the best of the best, then you can spring for a 300Mb/s router, although most households can get away with a 150Mb/s model.

Generally speaking, you’ll want to avoid “dual-band” routers unless you know that your home has a problem with wireless interference. Although the boxes claim that you need this model to stream high-definition video and play video games, nothing could be further from the truth. A standard 300Mb/s N-router will be more than enough for video streaming and gaming.

Let’s face it, nobody is made of money. And when you have multiple computing or game devices at home that need access to the internet (or each other) you don’t want to go broke trying to set it up. Luckily, home network devices have been fairly inexpensive for a while now.

You basically have two choices when setting it up. You can go wired (easier to configure and probably a bit faster overall) or wireless. Usually the costs of the routers are only about 10 dollars apart. You simply connect the router you buy to the modem you get from your provider (cable, DSL, or satellite) and hook up your computers to the router. Make sure to keep security in mind if using wireless devices to make sure you do not have any unwanted people accessing your information.

You will also want to configure your computers to be able to see each other and share items like printers. Most versions of the operating systems out there have wizards that walk you through this process once they detect a network. There is also specialty software available to give more tools for those who need or want them. With the right configurations, you can share printers, files, and music across all of your computers in your home. You will also be able to add Network Attached Storage if you would like centralized backup options. The information doesn’t stop now. Keep looking: Tips to improve wireless network
